Alley Protocol and Safety
The District owns and maintains all alleys in the community, which are designated for local traffic getting to and from their garages. Alley lighting in all villages, except Island Village, is also maintained by the District and helps increase the level of security in the alleys.
GUIDELINES:
- Alleys may not be blocked off at any time, which includes staging materials, parking by residents, and parking by construction or maintenance contractors. Be advised the District recently adopted a rule whereby parked vehicles impeding traffic flow can be towed.
- Alleys should not be used to bypass stop signs or slower traffic since the speed limit is lower and alleys are generally narrower than the main roadways.
- Obey one-way alley signage, both for your safety and that of your neighbors.
